I have a low-drama personality, and seek the same in a partner. While I'm fully self-sufficient, life is certainly more fulfilling when it's shared. Politically I'm moderate-to-liberal. I enjoy history, live theatre and music. I've traveled extensively, both in the US and in Europe. I'm usually found in jeans or khakis and a polo shirt, but I'm equally at ease in leathers or a tuxedo. I'm drug and disease free, don't smoke, and drink alcohol only occasionally.
I firmly believe that long-term relationships thrive best when based on a strong foundation mutual respect, open communication, and love. This includes relationships that have BDSM elements. Both sides must give in equal proportion or one will feel taken advantage of and the relationship will go off-balance. This is true even when that given by one partner is different from that given by the other.
My "scene" interests are broad and varied. I'm always interested in trying something new, or experimenting with something old with someone to whom it is new. My dominant focus is control, with carefully induced stress. :-) I'm not interested in micromanaging someone else's life, though.
I have, at various times, been involved with slaves, submissives, and switches. I am more interested in individual compatibility than arbitrary label, but I get along best with a self-assured woman. I've dated smokers in the past, and that just won't work. Either be a non-smoker or be emotionally and physically ready to quit. I'm also incompatible with those who make use of recreational drugs, and those who think getting drunk is a recreational activity in itself.
