I started out as one of those people that lived under a rock or years. I only became active in the local community after my marriage ended.

In general:
Age and physical appearance isn't a deal breaker, but I do prefer someone that is visually appealing (to me). I do expect my subs to take care of themselves.
I want my subs to be intelligent and creative. Even if you want and like things like eye contact restriction and speech restrictions, I want you to still have a mind of your own. Be able to take general directions and fill in the blanks.
I also want you to have a life of your own. I really do not want someone who has nothing else to do but wait in the corner until I have an order for them. Outside interests (even if its just reading books) makes for a well rounded and more interesing person.

Things to expect
I have no problem doing things that are not within my primary interests (with a few exceptions). These would be as rewards for pleasing me.
I have certain rules that apply to every sub or slave I'm with. Most rules I set up are based on that dynamic . Not every rules works for every situation.
I use checklists, contracts, and written rules to make sure we are on the same page. I try to make sure there are no misunderstandings over needs, wants and expectations.
I don't have a large fully equipped dungeon. Some day maybe, but not now. I like to find creative uses for common things.
Expect to meet sooner rather than later. I prefer face to face, real life interaction.
Don't expect to play or scene right away.
I am lifestyle (Dominant is who I am not what I play at). I am generally open about my lifestyle. Being active in the local community means I attend munches and belong to a group of Doms that meet regularly.
I am enjoy public play (private parties and dungeons). I do keep pictures of people I play with (things like marks, piercings, things I want to remember). But these are private unless the the person in the picture agrees otherwise. (I have several play partners that are very open and like to show off what has been done to them.)
There will be homework. Expect to do some reading and be able to tell me what your ideas about roles and lifestyle are.

An STD doesn't automatically count against you, but is something I need to know about. I am clean and get tested regularly.
I also expect to know about any physical limitations early on. For example: knee problems, back problems, health issues. Very few things would be deal breakers, but I do need to know what to plan or prepare for.
Absolute deal breaker: never, ever lie to me. I have no patience for dishonesty.
Absolute hard limits: Under no circumstance will I do scat play, water sports, or rainbow play (didn't know vomit could be a fetish and don't want to know anything about it). If it involves animals or minors don't even think of asking.
