| I have been with my Lord for a long time, since 1987, over half of my life I have been living owned by him. There is no other way for me to feel the enjoyment and satisfaction that I have in my life except as owned.
In the Fall of 2004 a long distance relationship developed with kyraofMists, this time for us was about growth and understanding of the troubles and hurts that a long distance relationship has and also the joys of those times when we could be together.
Life has changed; as of Dec 2007 we are no longer a Long-Distance Relationship. Knight, Kyra and I are together at last. This past year has been one without the struggle and pains of the LDR. I know though all those pains and struggles are the reason that there are no struggles now.
I have always had a craving for a poly household from my earliest memories as a teen; I have craved the large family group. In my view a poly household is about more then having sex with multiple people or a BDSM group of people living together. It is a relationship that flows and supports everyone within it; it is not about any one person being more important. The relationship is an entity within itself.
All within the relationship work towards making sure it is balanced and solid on its foundation. The needs of the relationship flow from one person to another within the relationship as is needed to keep the relationship strong.
Each of us within the relationship bring to the relationship special talents and perspectives. This is one of the things that helps relationships to be strong, we are individuals each with weaknesses and strengths that support and help the others to grow and become more that we are individually.
I am the quiet one within the relationship… very rarely will post on the boards though I read what is said regularly. I would classify myself as an intimate speaker, one that enjoys talking to smaller groups of friends more so than strangers. I am also the one that sees the world through rose-colored glasses. I always try to see the positive.
There have been mistakes made in the journey, but those growing pains and hurts are apart of the reasons of who I am. All these growing pains and hurts that have happened in the past brought me in part to where I am today and with what I see now and in the future make it all worth while.
My favorite saying is “What Does Not Kill You Makes You Stronger.” Every experience can and should be learned from… I have used this saying in the past to help me get though the hard times.
Reading the forums and talking to new people in the lifestyle keeps a person from falling to the roadside in life’s journey… there is no destination as important as the growth of oneself and the journey to finding and understand ones true being.
