Understanding the Psychology of Service Submissives
In this interactive seminar, we will discuss the challenges faced by dominants and submissives with respect to service. We will then discuss archetypes of service submissives, and how to identify these archetypes. We will then talk about how identifying these archetypes helps determine compatibility, and what can enhance or deflate motivation to serve for the different archetypes.
Demystifying Humiliation
What is the difference between embarrassment, humiliation, and degradation? Why do people like to engage in this type of play? In this seminar, we answer these questions. Then we discuss two broad forms of humiliation play: D/s humiliation and SM humiliation. Next we talk about common themes of humiliation play and how identifying these themes can allow one to use creativity for other areas to explore. Lastly, we discuss ideas for responsible public humiliation.
Bio
Sea has been a BDSM gypsy of sorts for almost 12 years and attends socials, conventions, parties, and balls across the BDSM, leather, and fetish communities in multiple cities. Because of his frequent participation in events in other cities, kinksters in multiple Texas cities think he lives in their city. He, in fact, lives in Austin. He is proud to live in a city where a homeless crossdresser is a local celebrity who ran for mayor, a local band bases all its songs around the lead singer’s fetish for feet, and adults gather each year to celebrate the birthday of Eeyore—yes, Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh!
Sea has done his share to help, as they like to say there, keep Austin weird. His contributions to the Austin scene include hosting and promoting a fetish night for three years, during which time he wrote and directed, performed in, and arranged music for multiple fetish shows. BDSM influences his artistic expression, which has occurred in the form of fetish photography, DJing music for scene events, dance, and writings. He has also done stand-up comedy at multiple BDSM events.
Sea regularly presents at BDSM events across the country with a focus on communication and psychology, especially the psychology of submissives. His past contributions include chairing the Austin chapter of The Next Generation BDSM group for four years. He has also spent some time on vanilla online forums specifically to promote open-mindedness and clarify misconceptions about BDSM whenever the subject arose. Wwe believe, part of rebuilding from this accident requires a proactive attempt to be better equipped in the future, in case of accidents. I live My life as a polyamorous deviant Dominant Woman with heavy leanings towards pagan influenced Female Supremacy, a great love of gender confusion/fuck/bending, a circus sideshow freak worldview, bohemian, beauty in chaos, I will crush you, ROAR, passion, loud, scream, dance, blood-sweat-scream, you, Me and David Bowie... But, I love the strict structure of Victorian culture, its etiquette and highly defined systems of hierachy. This past weekend O/our friend, Meister Schmerz of CoRE and Servitus LA, lost His loft apartment to a fire. The fire destroyed His office, His dungeon and many of His personal items. His characteristic humor and deviance continue to shine through, despite the obvious devastation. He's been heard saying multiple times, 'I made it out with some of Orpheus' fire sticks and some Vintage Rope, what more do I need?' Meister Schmerz is the Director for CoRE LA. All of CoRE LA's tools were lost in the fire also.
W/we feel it is important for the Community to reach out to Meister Schmerz and CoRE in this difficult time. Servitus LA and Broken Door are joining forces with O/other members of the community to throw a benefit event for Meister Schmerz and CoRE. The event is graciously hosted by Broken Door at Their mansion in the SF Valley. The theme of the event is a 'Camp Schmerz in Montecarlo'. There will be Blackjack, pool play, a slave and Domme auction, clothing and toy auction, BBQ, DJ and dancing.
We invite you to come celebrate with U/us and raise money for Meister Schmerz and CoRE LA.

Ideology and Lifestyle Choices
I feel it is time for me to 'shout credos from the rooftops' and to give a definition of my beliefs and lifestyle choices. This is a reminder for me, a definition for those who are interested and a loud and bawdy 'piss off' for those who enjoy judging...
Briefly...I chose my name Soma Snakeoil (Goddess Soma) based on the book Brave New World and the old potions prevelant in vintage America that were full of opium. Both names are a reference to addictive properties, as this is a characteristic I want to embody, irresitable and addictive. Soma was used to control the masses in a distopic society. That’s an epic level of control, grandiose and so the name I picked for my public image.
What I do...I am a Lifestyle, ProDomme, Performer, Model and honored to be the Headmistress of Dungeon Servitus. I am not a traditional Domme, nor am I a traditional Headmistress. I have learned the traditions of the past, and love them. The tenants I find most beautiful are part of my daily life. What I expect of My submissives
There has been much written about the difference between a slave and a submissive, a submissive and a bottom, a Dom/me and a top. This is not what I want to discuss as there is much out there on the subject.
This is a personal description of what I expect from a submissive. I am not a slave holder currently, so I have nothing to say to potential slaves at this time.
I have recently let go a few from My stable. I have fond feelings toward everyone I have owned, but not everyone is able to live up to My standards.
1. Above all you will respect Me, always. Respect Me in your mind, in your manner and in your voice. Respect Me when you sleep or when you eat...
2. Keep your commitments to Me. If you commit to something you will follow through, even if it is a hardship.
3. Never question My commands. I will always be safe and think of how My commands effect you.
4. your every waking thought should be connected to Me. When the sun falls on your face as you wake in the morning, you think of Me. When you wash your skin, you think of how you want to give it up in service to Me.
5. you will wear My marks proudly.
6. you will always wear My collar for private play and public events. If W/we agree you will wear My collar 24/7.
7. If W/we do not work out, you will return My collar to Me. you will not come to My dungeon for photoshoots or events without My permission. I may allow you but this is at My discretion.
8. you will keep your body healthy and never be self destructive. I am the one who meets out pain, you have no authority to disrespect My property by being unhealthy.
9. If you smoke, in time, to show your devotion you will quit smoking.
10. you will not use hard drugs.
11. If I ask you to do something you will fulfill my request with a sense of urgency, and you will treat every request as an honor.
12. you will read and better yourself. you will both about the Lifestyle and about the vanilla world. your education reflects on Me, and I will have only intelligent and well read submissives.
13. you will also submit to Domina Angelina, My Mentor who I am collared to, and to My Lover, Sir Hazmat. you will refer to them with the same respect as you refer to Me. you will call them Domina and Sir.
14. you will only refer to Me as Goddess, my Queen, or Empress, never Mistress, never Soma. you will be punished if you do not address Me correctly. If I give you the gift of allowing a special name you may call Me this, but during punishment you will refer to Me only as Goddess.
15. you will treat other Dom/mes in O/our community with respect. If someone needs assistance you will assist. I will not allow you near A/anyone unsafe.
16. you will carry your self with grace and elegance. I have no interest in a slutty submissive.
17. you will stretch your body and always be ready to make it available to Me.
18. you will learn the positions for your body that I enjoy.
19. you will take pain. If you are not a masochist you will be taught how to take pain.
20. Service is one of the most important aspects in D/s for Me personally. I expect you to know My favorite drinks, food, colors etc. I expect you to learn how to serve traditionally. After a period of time, when you have past the period of consideration, you will be taught tea service and fine dining style service. you will use these skills to treat Me and My guests as royalty.
21. always use formal greetings with Me. I am your Domme not your buddy. 'Good Evening, Goddess...'
22. Remove slang from your vocabulary. It makes you common. I want you to be sophisticated.
23. Massage Me. Brush My hair. Run My bath. These are other aspects to service that I require.
24. Kiss My feet.
25. Do not ever disrespect O/others in the Servitus family or O/our close associates by criticising or in any way being disloyal.
26. Be honest. Always. With E/everyone.
27. Keep your appearance clean and interesting. No body hair, anywhere. The only exception to this is My boi.
28. Be loyal to Me and to the Servitus Family.
29. your body is My canvas.
30. I will always respect your personality, and encourage you to have a well defined strong personality. Never confuse Me allowing you to explore, with Me relenquishing any control. If I allow you to top other submissives, remember you are always at My feet.
31. When W/we play together as a family you will provide aftercare for My others. W/we always take care of each other, in and out of play. If you are disresepectful to another of My property you are disrespecting Me, and you will be severely punished.
32. A collar is as easily taken away as it is given. you will always work to impress Me and deserve My attention.
33. you will worship and adore and love Me. I will nurture and love you.
34. you will journal for Me about your days and about your journey in the Lifestyle.
35. you will feel free to be transparent with Me about your feelings, but always with respect.
36. If tribute is required after negotiations in O/our relationship you will be expected to be diligent and timely about this.
37. you will be wise with your money and never allow yourself to go into hardship from bad habits.
38. you will not gamble, it makes Me sick.
39. If I allow you to have sexual relationships you will remember that I ALWAYS come first, so you must choose people who will understand and not have a problem with this dynamic. It is always My preferance that you choose other unattached submissives to be sexual with, so you can share them with Me. If you or they are not able to deal with this you will lose your collar immediately.
40. you will ask permission to masturbate, and you will only look at My pictures, and think of Me, unless I tell you otherwise.
41. W/we will always play with a safe word, but you must only use it in distress.
42. If you model you will ask permission before booking with A/anyone.
43. you will use any personal talents for the benefit of Myself and O/our Family.
44. you will always be available when I want you and never be offended if I decide I do not want you for an event.
45. If you are jealous of My O/others you will keep it to yourself and always treat those O/others with respect. I will have as many or as few submissives as I please and you will not act jealous if My attention is not on you.

I find myself growing tired at times, tired of hearing what you dream of doing, tired of hearing how you feel ashamed, compelled or titallated, tired of all the copy and paste 'Dear Mistress' pleading letters(For fuck's sake it's Goddess not Mistress anyway), tired of making connections and people not following up, tired of the times I don't follow up, very tired when clients waste my valuable time by not showing up and not calling...tired of hearing your perverse little dreams, bored by what you find taboo and exciting... Tired of your thymos. Then I stop and tell myself, they all want to be loved, under their layers they just want someone to really look at them, or listen or give them an intense real moment. That's what we all want isn't it, the moments when you know you are alive and you are connecting with someone else, moments of peace, moment of extreme feeling, or pure release-oblivion. And occasionally some of us are blessed by those transcendant moments when everything is beautiful, and deep and full, or completely blissfully empty. I think about how blessed I am to be able to live my life according to my own rules, to have the adoration of friends, family and admirers. How beautiful it is to have someone take time to approach me and offer the gift of submission, whether for months, hours or moments. We all want the same thing. The layers of our personalities, preferences, desires, neurosis, orientation may obscure or redefine, but those are the things that make it a fabulous adventure. I'm in danger of sounding like a twig chewing hippy so to put it all in perspective and frame in the terms of someone we all know and love:
