We spent yesterday in LA. We went to the Go Green Expo, which I found disappointing. I was expecting an expo full of green building techniques, composting and alternative power. Instead it was cosmetics, clothing and MLMs like Arbonne ane Monavie. Boo hiss.After that we decided to hit a favorite hot dog spot and then over to the Peterson Automotive Museum. I really liked this museum. This museum had cars put into vignettes appropriate to the era of the car. In the famous cars area, they were showing scenes from the movie that the car was in. In the camper area, they had it set up in a 'history of the campground' way. The best thing.....a whole room dedicated to how they make HotWheels!It was a great day and made me miss living in LA.We spent yesterday in LA. San Francisco was fantastic. I will say that the hotels we use totally spoiled me with champagne, wine, chocolate and a view of the Bay Bridge while laying in bed.I found the Ferry Building Farmer's Market to be wonderful. Had a great breakfast sitting on the pier. And I was amazed at the recycling system. They are light years ahead of San Diego.The city was dressed up for Christmas and we encountered chorals, string ensembles, and even a skating rink. We did wine tastings, watched some fools swimming in the bay and took the cable cars to Union Square.The side note is that I loved the Art Deco street cars that run along the Embarcadero.I'm looking forward to the next visit (and hope it will be warmer).San Francisco was fantastic. How did it get to be the weekend before Thanksgiving already? I haven't shopped for our dinner. I have two trips to San Francisco and then Christmas and New Years. Yowch! Well, at least I now know what the transition I was feeling is... I'm being promoted. I assume my new position on December 19th. It should be interesting, as the person that currently has the position is onsite at the client company. I'll be handling it remotely. But, it will require travel to San Francisco to visit the client. I'm looking forward to the new position, but it will require breaking in those new shoes.Well, at least I now know what the transition I was feeling is... I'm being promoted. I assume

So, yesterday, I received an email from a 'Dom' saying that he was starting a new group in our area. The group would be for professional, sucessful...not nearly homeless people. He went on to say that any of our guests would have to submit to being screened.He closed the email by instructing me to forward the email to my friends, if I wasn't interested...as long as they weren't nearly homeless, either.I have no issues with a group formed with the ideal of engaging in activities that require disposable income. What I found offensive was his tone. Not to mention that while he solicitied me to join....he never once typed the words 'please' or 'thank you'.When I responded that his email came across as condescending and pedantic; his response was that he was obviously better educated and better financially than I am.I found this funny because this man doesn't know me. He has no idea what my education level is or what I do for a living.He closed the email by saying: 'We are much much better than those that need food stamps to eat dinner tonight.. :) 'Wow...nice see that bigotry is alive and well. How arrogant to mock the less fortunate. I wonder if he makes fun of the disabled too?What I found funny is that in his brain, the only possible reason for declining to join would be that I was uneducated and poor. He completely missed the fact that I declined because I found his attitude offensive. So, needless to say, I won't be forwarding his first email onto my friends. I hate when real life gets in the way of fun. Things are just so freakin' hectic right now. The house is half packed, which upsets my sense of balance. My nights and weekends are spent preparing for the move. Deciding what stays and what goes. How did so much stuff accumulate? I've finally made the decision to get a different car, which is weird to me because I've had my 'Baby' for 11 years now. I love that car. It's just reached a point where I want comfort and fun. Now, it just comes down to logistics.I seriously just can't wait until the move is over, when I can sit, drink a couple of Lemon Drop martinis, be sloppily lustful and get a good beating.I hate when real life gets in the way of fun.
