A few essentials:
I'm a 28 year old European transplanted to Boulder, CO in 2004. I grew up in a small Mediterranean country, lived through a war, and wandered over to US of A because it seemed like a good idea at a time - I needed a change. I'm classically educated, very well travelled and just enough of a bookworm and geek to keep my brains busy most of the time. These days I work as an IT administrator for a major corporation, and make a valiant effort of preserving at least some of my free time from onslaught of work.
Spectrum of interests:
I'm hyperactive, with hard-to-please mindframe - thus I'm constantly bouncing from one venture to another (though I do make it a point to finish most of them). Activities I more or less seriously stick with are motorcycling, biking, fencing and hiking, along with good movies and books, social gaming, haiku, photography and cooking. I also finally, recently acquired a steel horse of my own, and it is turning into a fetish with imminent certainty. On the semi-professional side, I occassionally moonlight as web designer and photographer.
Me and BDSM:
In general terms of power exchange, I am mainly a Top / Dom. (Yes, I know there's a difference.) I derive my pleasure and enjoyment from the ability to inflict pleasure, perhaps in excessive amounts, on others. My preferences are few - while sadism, humiliation or blood play by themselves do nothing to arouse me, the ways in which submissives might respond to those stimuli are. In short, I take pleasure from empathic feedback.
About switching:
Yes, I said above that I'm a Dom. I'm not a sub - hell, I don't even consider myself much of a switch either, most of the time. Occasionally, though, I do like to get down on my knees and experience a scene from a different perspective, for several reasons. First, it helps me understand subs better when I'm domming; it also often provides inspiration and new ideas. Lastly, to be honest, letting go of control every once in a while does feel good.
Compatible personalities:
I am far from simple mind, I'll admit openly. I'm bluntly honest most of the time, and my brain is almost always in overdrive, and thoughts are more often than not barbed with sarcasm or wry humour - yet I consider myself a philanthrope and overall good soul. So, if you get offended easily, we likely won't get along too well - I suck at tiptoing around people's feelings. If you're, however, witty and clever, sarcastic and perhaps just a bit jaded at the world at large, but still quick to laughter over small sparkly things of life, we should be shiny.
Subs, Slaves and Dommes:
As I mentioned above, I am currently not looking for a serious LTR relationship - last few ended up a bit unpleasantly for me. That being said, I'm always open for casual / part time play relationships or occasional scene. At this point, I'm more interested in playing with Subs than Slaves (I'd be happy to explain difference as I see it, if you don't know it), and I do have some, if limited, amount of time to show the ropes to the beginners. I'll always welcome a Domme's friendship, chat time, experience and whatever else might come with it, but again, between my busy life schedule and dom-leaning nature, odds are I wouldn't make a good full-time sub. (I am told I make a delightful entertainment, though.)
Don't's:
Please, don't be chronically depressed. Everyone's life sucks to a degree and, as much as I love to talk to friends about my or their problems every now and then, I can't be your emotional punching bag 24/7. If you frown more often than smile, it really won't work. Clingy or easily jealous people don't fit my current Wanted list either - as stated above, repeatedly, I'm busy in RealLife (TM) these days, and I do not have the time, alas, to be your TrueLove (TM). Please, be Safe, Sane and Consentual, and aware (or willing to learrn) the BDSM etiquette and common sense rules. STDs really don't fit in either (I'm D'n'D clean, I expect my partners to be likewise). Lastly, smoking is a major turn-off for me, since I'm mildly allergic to tobacco. You don't have to be a non-smoker, but if you can't live without a cigarette on your lips, it'll be a big problem.
